Cape Coral - Venice of the U.S.
The location of Cape Coral is excellent and a favorite destination of many tourists all over the world. Cape Coral is known as Venice of the U.S. because of its numerous canals. There is a difference between freshwater canals which have no access to the sea and saltwater canals which have access to the sea. Villa Nessi is on a saltwater canal with direct sailboat access to the Gulf of Mexico.
The relatively young city corresponds with our European standard. Many people from Germany – around 20% - as well as from other European Countries are living in Cape Coral. A big variety of grocery stores such as Publix on Del Prado Blvd and Walmart on Skyline Blvd. (open for 24 hours) can be found in Cape Coral.
Cape Coral beach is a little small but beautiful and worth to see. There is a pier you can walk on to see some nice sunsets. For golfers Cape Coral is a true paradise as it is just a stone´s throw to the next golf course.
The closest larger city is Fort Myers with many chances for some good shopping and sport events such as baseball or football. Ft. Myers has an international Airport. It is just a 30 minute drive from the airport to Villa Nessi. Within 3 hours you easily can get to Miami and you need around 3.5 hours to Orlando. Also worth seeing is Sarasota and the Tropical Islands Longboat Key and Anna Maria Island. You´ll be there in around two hours. If you prefer to get a bit of a Beverly Hills Feeling you should put Naples on your list. A cozy city with big villas and parks. Or you jump into your convertible rental car (highly recommendable, just a „must“ in Florida) and enjoy a 30 minute drive to Sanibel and Captiva Island.
Cape Coral has a subtropical climate. The warmest months are the summer months with more than 30°Celsius / 86 Fahrenheit. Climatically a very convenient time to visit Cape Coral are the winter months November to April with an average temperature of 26°Celsius / 78 Fahrenheit.
